Dental specialists complete two to six extra years of training after dental school and usually work on referral from a general dentist, although most accept patients who call directly. Orthodontists straighten teeth with braces and clear aligners; endodontists handle root canals; periodontists treat gum disease and place implants; oral and maxillofacial surgeons extract wisdom teeth, place implants and do jaw surgery, often under IV sedation; prosthodontists rebuild smiles with crowns, bridges and dentures; denture centers focus on full and partial dentures, relines and repairs. Sedation and hospital dentists serve anxious patients and people with special needs, while TMJ and sleep-apnea dentists make oral appliances for jaw pain and snoring.

Chapel Hill is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Chapel Hill follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Had a terribly painful tooth that needed a root canal. My dentist tried but broke a file in my tooth (still there) trying. Saw Dr. Yip on a Monday and was in for root canal the next day. The tooth was especially difficult due to calcification and narrowing of the roots. Dr. Yip performed a successful procedure saving my tooth and crown! The entire process exceeded my expectations. After three weeks of pain, ibuprofen, and acetaminophen, my tooth was taken care of in two days. I highly recommend Dr. Yip.

I came to North Carolina Endodontics Chapel Hill location with sudden severe dental pain. I called at 8AM and they got me in by 9AM. They were efficient and so kind. They quickly identified the problem with x-rays and other tests. Within 15 minutes they determined that a root canal was necessary and offered to just start the procedure at that time which was great. They were so receptive to my comfort throughout the procedure and reassuring as they narrated a plan to add more anaesthetic for pain. It made sense when I learned that this location is women owned! I highly recommend NC Endodontics in Chapel Hill.

Had the absolute best experience. Which is crazy considering its a dental office. Everyone was super nice and made me feel comfortable from the moment I sat down in the chair. They explained the entire process from beginning to end and made sure I was knowledgable of the procedure as well as aftercare. They even did a followup call to check in. Loved my experience. Highly recommend.

NC Endodontics were able to get me in quickly when my general dentist referred me after I ended up with a tooth abscess that needed a root canal. Originally I was only scheduled for a consult, but they were able to actually do the root canal and complete treatment the same day for me as well. I explained my horrible dental anxiety before the procedure where they informed me they offer medications or nitrous gas to their anxiety patients if I wanted to wait. They were incredibly patient while we came up with a plan that would allow me to complete the treatment that day. During the procedure they proceeded with the same patience and compassion. I ended up so relaxed, with no medications, during the procedure that I ALMOST fell asleep at one point. I'm 32 years old with a lifelong history of severe dental anxiety, and never have I been able to have any sort of dental work done without anxiety medications, or being in absolute hysterics during it, until now. On top of their quick scheduling, work and compassion, their rates are absolutely reasonable. Thankfully my dental insurance covered a large portion, but even if it hadn't, the overall price wasn't horrible for a root canal. Much b

From consultation to follow up for a root canal everything went very smoothly. The staff is very nice and the doctors explain clearly the procedure, options and what would happen. The root canal procedure was painless and we'll explained. The staff followed up the next day to make sure everything was good. Highly recommend this endodontist.
